The AP/GC girls wrestling team earned three wins in Tuesday’s home quad, in which they competed in their first-ever duals at home. Hampton-Dumont-CAL went 2-1 and North Butler-Clarksville went 1-2.
In the opener, the Falcons beat the Bulldogs 48-15. AP/GC got pins by Grace Storjohann at 120, Kylee Babcock at 125, Jocelyn Freed at 130 and Caylee Harken at 145. Hampton-Dumont-CAL had pins by Elsie Kuper at 170 and Maren Subbert at 190. Megan Severs won an 8-4 decision at 140.
In AP/GC’s closest dual of the night, they beat North Butler-Clarksville 42-30. They got pins by Freed at 130, Zoey Uhlenhopp at 155 and Kira Cox at 170. North Butler-Clarksville had pins by Addy Johnson at 105, Mackenzie Shultz at 125 and Maliyah Liddle at 190.
The Falcons finished with a dominant 60-0 win over Columbus Catholic, where all three contested matches were pins.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL beat Columbus Catholic 48-6, earning pins by Ava Blau at 130 and Juliette Koch at 135. The rest of the wins were by forfeit.
In the closest dual of the night, the Bulldogs beat North Butler-Clarksville 37-36. Each team earned 36 points, but Hampton-Dumont-CAL had four takedowns to North Butler-Clarksville’s two to win the tiebreaker. The Bulldogs got pins by Kuper at 170 and Subbert at 190. North Butler-Clarksville’s pins were by Schultz at 130 and Lexus Ayers at 125.
