The Parkersburg City Council this week received information about defective sidewalk liabilities.
There was discussion about the city’s responsibility to take greater care in identifying and making property owners aware of the need to fix their defective sidewalks where they exist.
Parkersburg Fire Chief Rus Boersma provided an update to the city council, including that the department officers will stay the same in 2025, and that grants have been awarded to the fire department from the Iowa DNR and the Butler County Community Foundation for equipment.
