Today the Franklin County Board of Supervisors received an update on the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline project with Kylee Gibson from the company.

The Franklin supervisors did decide to seek legal advice on the use of eminent domain and setbacks, as the county has had an ordinance tabled for several months concerning pipeline regulations.

Gibson did tell the board that if Franklin County moved ahead with an ordinance that involved eminent domain, it would be the first county in Iowa to do so after the Iowa Utilities Commission approved of the project last year.

In other business, the Franklin County Board of Supervisors approved an Iowa Department of Transportation Federal Aid Funding Agreement for a Surface Transportation Block Grant Block Grant Program Project for HMA milling and resurfacing along county road S-56 for 12 miles.
