The AP/GC girls wrestling team placed second and North Butler-Clarksville was third at Tuesday’s New Hampton/Turkey Valley Girls Duals.
AP/GC went 3-1. After a 48-24 opening round loss to the hosts, they defeated Oelwein 48-24, North Butler-Clarksville 48-18 and Central Elkader 36-12.
All of AP/GC’S team points came due to New Hamton/Turkey Valley open weight classes. Against Oelwein, Kira Cox earned a 0:41 fall at 170. The pins against North Butler-Clarksville were by Kylee Babcock at 125, Jocelyn Freed at 130, Zoey Uhlenhopp at 155 and Cox at 170. Cox at 170 scored the team’s only pin against Central Elkader.
North Butler-Clarksville defeated Oelwein 42-30 and Central Elkader 42-12, and fell to New Hampton/Turkey Valley 48-12. Against Oelwein, North Butler-Clarksville got pins by Addy Johnson at 105, Savannah Pierce at 110 and Maliyah Liddle at 170. The team points against New Hampton/Turkey Valley were due to open weight classes. Alexa Gott at 170 scored a pin against Central Elkader. Sydney Lovrien got a pin at 190 against AP/GC.
