The AGWSR boys wrestling team will join Columbus Catholic at a triangular at Hudson Thursday, which’ll air on 99 The Wave.

The Cougars (6-13) have picked up steam in January, having gone 3-1 at Saturday’s St. Edmond Dual Tournament. In fact, five of the dual wins have come since the start of the month. Four wrestlers are tied for the team lead with 14 wins, including Kealain Urban, Brady Abbas, Jariyah Bowles and Clayton VanLoh.

The Sailors (2-17) are coming off a 10th place finish at Saturday’s Tripoli Invitational, and haven’t won a dual since December. Joe Hackett and Lucas Clark are the team’s only wrestlers with records better than .500.

“They’ve got a lineup in which there’s some open weights there,” AGWSR coach James Abbas says. “So I look for that dual to be competitive as far as a dual meet. Hudson’s a tough opponent. If you look at their record that they’ve had so far, they’ve done better dual meet-wise and you look up and down the lineup, it looks like they’ve got some kids that are doing well. I’ve got a ton of respect for that program and what they’re doing over there.”

Hudson (12-5) is the only team better than .500 in the triangular, and is coming off a 3-1 outing at Saturday’s dual tournament at BCLUW-SH. Mason Fogt enters 14-3 to lead the team.

Action will start at 6:15 p.m.
