Allison City Council receives information on the water and sewer rates

The Allison City Council this week met with Northland Securities Financial Advisor Chip Schultz who discussed the city’s water and sewer rates.

After reviewing the city’s numbers, Schultz says the city will need to increase water rates as there is more in expenses than revenue at this time.  He is working to put together options for the council to consider to help bring the water revenue up to match the expenses as there has not been a water increase done in years, as only sewer increases have been added annually.

In addition, Schultz says the sewer rates should be able to come down as the city will be getting forgiveness on the sewer loan.  However, he’s unsure of the amount as the project is not yet completed.
