The Aplington-Parkersburg boys basketball team will finish a three-game week with a neutral-site matchup against Kee as part of Saturday’s Upper Iowa Shootout in Fayette. It’ll air on 99 The Wave.

The Falcons (10-1) will step out of league competition for just the second time this season, with a chance to continue building momentum in the back half of January. Junior Benny Waller says the team must remain productive during a busy stretch.

“When we get into this late stretch of the season, we have three game weeks where you don’t have many practices,” Waller says. “The ones you do have, you really have to be locked in. The whole team has to be locked in. We have to be ready to go. We can’t lose days because of bad practices.”

Three players average in double figures for Kee (7-5), led by Jordan Cota’s 23.4 points per game. Their 5.2 blocked shots per game rank as the fourth-best in Class 1A.

Coverage will start at 6:15 p.m., followed by the tipoff at 6:30 inside Dorman Gymnasium.
