Last night about 10 o’clock, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department received the report of a vehicle that had gone through the ice on Clear Lake, and that there was one person inside of the vehicle. The incident took place on the southwest side of the lake.
When deputies arrived, the driver was found to have rescued himself from the vehicle.
68-year-old Daniel John Kloser of Garner was the driver of the 2000 Jeep Wrangler.
Clear Lake Fire Medics and Ventura Fire Department personnel also responded and evaluated Kloser at the scene, but there were no apparent injuries.
After an investigation into the incident, Kloser was arrested for a first offense OWI.
The Jeep was partially submerged in the lake and will be removed at a later time.
