Grundy Center senior Tiernan Vokes has announced his commitment to continue his football career at the University of Northern Iowa.
Change of plans. All glory to God for this opportunity. Thank you to family and coaches for believing in me and getting me to this point. Go Panthers! 🟡🟣 pic.twitter.com/yLJ08ps9E1

A two-time first team all-state selection, Vokes will move to the Division I level after playing a key role on both sides of the ball throughout Grundy Center’s run to three consecutive state championships. At wide receiver and tight end, he had 62 receptions for 1,030 yards and 16 touchdowns, all team-highs in the 2024 season. The receiving yards and touchdown receptions were also the most in Class 1A. At defensive end, his four sacks were the second-best mark on the team. His 38 career receiving touchdowns are tied for the sixth-most all-time in IHSAA history.
