“We’re looking optimistic and going for it. We have some good kids that will compete. I think the kids that are prepared to battle out will do really well,” says Holm. “The Top of Iowa Conference is really tough. I’m looking at us to try to make a statement with some of the kids that we have. We might be young, but we can still do some things here.”

The West Fork boys have three wrestlers with 14 wins or more. Andrew Baker is 15-13 at 165, Jasper Jones is 14-12 at 150 and Preston Starr is 14-15 at 144.

Warhawks Head Coach Keaton Wilson on being well rested for tournament and competition level.

“We need to be well rested and ready to go. I’ve been telling the guys to go to sleep early at night, to get the proper sleep needed for their body to fully recover, to be ready to go this weekend and from this weekend moving forward,” says Wilson. “It’s not going to be easy for any of our guys, for anyone in that conference tournament once you step on the mat. We just got to go out there and battle the way we know how to and the results will come.”

The tournament field will include #6 (1A) Osage, #7 (1A) Nashua-Plainfield, #9 (1A) Lake Mills and #21 (1A) Central Springs.
