A 3rd person has been arrested from the investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department into the disappearance of grave markers and historical site markers reported missing over the past month.
31-year-old Rachel Card of Hampton was arrested Tuesday evening and was charged with first degree theft. She is alleged to have cashed three checks written in her name.
The checks were from the sale of stolen markers and written to her by the salvage dealer. The checks were cashed by Card on three different occasions, and she received a payment for cashing these checks to conceal the thefts for others.
The other two suspects arrested in this case are 44-year-old Brandon S. Smith of Hampton and 34-year-old Lauren A. Johnson of Dumont.
A 4th individual is still being sought in connection with this case.
