The South Hardin girls and boys basketball teams will travel to I-35 rival South Hamilton on Thursday. The South Hardin girls won last year’s meeting 56-46 and the Tigers boys will look for their first win in the series since 2023.
The South Hardin boys (7-9) have won back to back games including a 60-42 win at AGWSR in NICL West rematch on Tuesday. The Tigers distribute the ball efficiently at the offensive end with 12.8 assists per game. Two Tigers are scoring in double figures with Traven Wheeler and Jake Balvanz averaging 10.9 and 10.4 points per game respectively.

“South Hamilton and South Hardin always have great battles back and forth. Really intense, great game,” says Phillips. “We got to be locked in and ready to play. A lot of the players know each other in that one. A lot of the parents know each other. It’s always a fun game.”
The South Hamilton boys (0-16) lost 78-26 to Roland-Story on Tuesday. The Hawks have struggled to score this season averaging 30 points per game. Grant Larson leads with 10.2 points per game
The South Hardin girls (5-11) lost 60-52 at AGWSR in NICL West rematch on Tuesday. The Tigers have put in extra effort on the offensive boards with 11.9 offensive rebounds per game. Alli Sheldahl leads with 12.8 points per game at 37.3 percent from the field.
The South Hamilton girls (5-11) have lost four straight including a loss 74-27 to #7 (3A) Roland-Story on Tuesday. Isabel Swenson leads with 6.5 points per game.
