The number of counties in Iowa to have bans on open burning continues to increase.
As of Saturday morning, the number of counties was up to at least 12, most in North Central and Northeast Iowa.
This includes Franklin, Hardin, and Grundy Counties.
Violation of an open burn ban in Iowa is considered to be a simple misdemeanor.
