The North Butler-Clarksville boys wrestling team had six top three finishers and the West Fork boys had three wrestlers finish inside the top six, as part of the annual Doug Trees Invite hosted by NBC on Saturday. Nashua-Plainfield was the team champion with 262 points, NBC placed fourth with 129 points and West Fork was 12th with 23 points.
For NBC, Cain Nielsen placed second at 126, with two wins by Fall and a win by decision, before a loss by Fall in first place match to Royce Peterson of Lake Mills. Jack Bartels placed second at 144, with a win by Fall and win by technical fall (19-3) before a loss by Fall in first place match to Steve Brandenburg of Lake Mills. Four Wolves placed third including, Aiden Doty at 106 with two Falls, including a win by Fall (0:51) in third place match, Carl Shew at 113 had a technical fall, a sudden victory one and win by Fall (1:30) in third place match, Maddox Morrison at 132 had two falls and win by major decision (14-4) in third place match and Jaxon Miller at 138 had a major decision and two Falls including a win by Fall (1:44) in third place match.
Other top five finishers for the Wolves included Weston Miller in fourth at 126, McCabe Gansen in fourth at 215 and Evan McCormick in fifth at 150.
For West Fork, Jasper Jones placed fourth at 150, with a Fall and win by decision (8-6) before a loss by Fall and loss by decision (7-0) to Caleb Skogen of Lake Mills in third place match. Andrew Baker placed fifth at 165 and Jensen Robbins placed sixth at 215 for the Warhawks.
North Butler-Clarksville will conclude regular competition with AGWSR Round Robin on Saturday, February 8th. West Fork has concluded their regular season schedule and will prepare for individual Class 1A district tournament at Osage on Saturday, February 15.
