Monday night the Hampton City Council held a budget workshop meeting.
Hampton City Manager Ron Dunt presented the council with the proposed fiscal year 2026 city property tax levy and the fiscal year 2026 budget.
Dunt reported that if the city did not have to pay to rehab the former pharmacy building, the levy would have decreased for the next fiscal year.
However, with the pharmacy project, the levy is set to increase by 73-cents per 1-thousand dollars of assessed property value.
