Monday, the Rowan City Council approved the proposed fiscal year 2026 property tax levy on a 3-1 vote, with councilmember Dale Hollman casting the no vote. Councilmember Heather Baumgartner was absent from the meeting.
The proposed property tax levy in Rowan for the next fiscal year is $19.95 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
In other business, the Rowan City Council set March 25th at 5:15 p.m. as the date and time for a public hearing on the proposed property tax levy and will then hold a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. that same day to review the city’s fiscal year 2026 budget.
During the meeting, the Rowan City Council also voted to keep Mark Bruns as fire chief.
