The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report shows the coverage area with no drought conditions listed in Iowa decreased in the past week from 20-point-41 percent to 13-point-28 percent.
There were increases in the coverage areas for both the abnormally dry and moderate drought categories, while the coverage area for severe drought remained at 1-point-3 percent.
A majority of the broadcast area remains in a moderate drought.
One year ago, about 5 percent of Iowa was drought free.
