The Dike-New Hartford boys wrestling team will compete in its final duals of the season when it travels to Maquoketa Valley Thursday.
Head Coach Tony Norton says it’ll be a quality final opportunity to wrestle some matches before the district tournament on Saturday, February 15.
“Trying to get everybody healthy, trying to get everybody’s minds right, and make sure we’re hitting our stride when we need to be on February 15 over at Webster City,” Norton says. “We have more room to grow. We’re very young, obviously. We should, if we can get through practices, get through Thursday alright, be pretty much for the most part, hopefully to full strength. Jake Reicks had surgery on Wednesday, so he’s done for the year, but kind of expected that too. But yeah, if we can get everybody healthy, and Fight, fight, fight, fight, it’s time of the year when you gotta fight for everything. So we’ll see what happens.”
Other schools at the meet will include Clayton Ridge, Clear Lake and East Buchanan. Action will start at 6:00 p.m.
