
A 33-year-old Mason City man entered a guilty plea in federal court in Sioux City Wednesday to one count of possession with the intent to distribute 5 grams or more of pure methamphetamine.
Todd Aaron Howard Hamilton Sutton, Junior, in a plea agreement, admitted that on July 27th, 2024, he was the driver of a vehicle pulled over for a traffic violation in Cerro Gordo County. He was arrested for driving while barred and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail. While being booked into the jail, law enforcement found a plastic bagging containing methamphetamine on his person.
Sutton is being held in the custody of the U-S Marshal and will remain in custody pending his sentencing.
He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years in federal prison, and a possible maximum sentence of 40 years.
