Wednesday about 3:30pm the Iowa Falls Fire Department was called out on the report of a house on fire at 19723 county highway D-20 just west of Iowa Falls. No injuries reported.
When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of the roof. Fire departments from the cities of Ackley, Alden, and Buckeye were called in to help, along with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, Iowa Falls Ambulance, and the Hardin County “E” Squad.
The home, owned by the George Von Mock family, is considered to be a total loss. Firefighters were on the scene for over four hours, and then returned later in the evening to put out hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
