Tuesday the Franklin County Board of Supervisors discussed the hiring of a part-time interpreter that would work one day a week in the county recorder’s office, and a half a day a week for the General Assistance office.
Franklin County Auditor Katy Flint told the board about a discussion she had with county recorder Heather Bushbaum.
“The goal was that she would very much advertise that whatever day of the week that person is there and communicate with like La Luz and she felt that while you may have obviously there’s always a chance of having people in other days that hopefully they could kind of funnel that business on those days to keep them busy, to keep the interpreter busy and maximize the interpreter. That is what she did share with me.”
The Franklin County Board of Supervisors took no action on the proposal, stating a majority of residents they received comments from did not want taxpayer money used for this type of position.
