
The Dike-New Hartford girls basketball team couldn’t keep pace in Tuesday’s 61-34 loss at Pocahontas Area in a 2A regional quarterfinal.
The Wolverines held an 8-6 lead after a low-scoring first quarter. But the Indians used a late-half surge to go up 25-14 at the break. Pocahontas Area continued to create separation throughout the second half, outscoring the Wolverines 36-20 in the final 16 minutes.
DNH has had its season end at 9-15, ending a streak of seven consecutive state tournament appearances and four consecutive state titles.
