Phetxoumphone advanced with a 19-3 technical fall over Judah Gurwell of Winterset in the quarterfinal.
Six locals lost in the quarterfinals to advance to Friday’s blood round, including Kolbe Hansen of Iowa Falls-Alden at 113, Adrian Phetxoumphone of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 126, Colin Sesker of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 144, Taylor Mahler of Hampton-Dumont-CAL at 157, Charlie Campbell of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 175 and Trevor Bailey of Iowa Falls-Alden at 215.
Those who advanced to the blood round from consolation action include Carl Shew of North Butler-Clarksville at 113, Charlie Showalter of Hampton-Dumont-CAL at 132, Ryland Morgan of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 165 and JT Kelso of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 285.
Other locals from Classes 2A and 1A have been eliminated.
The semifinals and two consolation rounds in Class 2A will start Friday at 6:00 p.m., with coverage airing on 104.9 KLMJ.
