niacc-inaugural-idea-camp-2-25-25

NIACC’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center last week held the inaugural IDEA Camp for area middle school students.  28 students from 12 schools across North Iowa attended the IDEA Camp where they put into practice life’s key skills:  innovation, discovery, entrepreneurship, and achievement.

This hands-on program guides young innovators through the essential stages of business creation, from brainstorming ideas to crafting a solid business model.  During the day, students learned the key principles of entrepreneurship, created a business plan, and presented their business in a Pitch Competition.

Several student teams were awarded prizes, including first place to Preston’s Lawncare, led by 8th grade student Preston Gniadecki of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.  Third place went to Scrunch It, led by 7th grade student Ellie Borcherding of St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Latimer.

The next IDEA Camp is scheduled for March 12th to coincide with Spring Break.  For more information, call 641-422-41-11.
