
The latest U-S Drought Monitor report shows that the coverage area of abnormally dry conditions in Iowa declined in the last week by 11-point-23 percent.
However, the coverage area for the moderate drought category increased by the same amount, now standing at 71-point-35 percent.
The other drought categories remained the same, with no drought being listed across portions of southern Iowa.
The entire broadcast area is now under a moderate drought.
The estimated population in drought areas of the state is over 2-million.
