Latest Spring Flood Outlook issued by the NWS

The latest Spring Flood Outlook from the National Weather Service in Des Moines shows that the risk of minor, moderate and major flooding is near to below normal at all locations.

River levels are near to below normal and soil moisture is below to much below normal for this time of year.  In fact, soil moisture values are approaching record or near record low values for this time of year across the northern third of the state.

In addition, frost depth values are generally around 10-25 inches.

The next Spring Flood Outlook from the National Weather Service will be issued on March 13th.
