Blizzard Warning in Effect Until this Afternoon for Much of Iowa

A strong early spring system will continue to affect Iowa today. Strong northwest winds will persist for much of the day, with gusts up to 65 miles per hour at times, before diminishing late this evening.

A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for the broadcast area until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility through this evening.

A High Wind Warning remains in effect for the broadcast area until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Northwest winds of 30 to 40 milers per hour with gusts up to 65 can be expected during this time. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected.
