Dike-New Hartford alum Payton Petersen was recognized as the winner of the IGHSAU’s Jack North Award at last week’s girls basketball state tournament.
The award goes to the student-athlete who received the most votes on the all-tournament team at the previous state tournament, among all classes. Petersen was a four-time team captain of the Class 2A all-tournament team during her career, leading the Wolverines to four consecutive championships.
Petersen recently finished her freshman season at the Louisville volleyball program.
