Wednesday night the Ackley City Council received information from the city clerk’s office regarding property nuisance abatement procedures and costs after discussing the issue with the Lynch Dallas, PC Attorney at Law firm from Cedar Rapids.
The cost for an attorney would be $275 an hour, for an associate $250 an hour, and for a paralegal or legal assistant $150. Court appearance would need to be the attorney cost plus mileage.
The firm also suggested looking into a municipal infraction citation seeking a civil penalty and an order for cleanup, with a few other orders involved as well.
No action was taken by the Ackley City Council.
