Valley sisters represented Hampton-Dumont-CAL at IGCA all-star games

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls basketball team was represented at Saturday’s Iowa Girls Coaches Association Larry Niemeyer Senior All-Star Games at Cedar Falls High School.

Jordan Valley and Brooklyn Valley competed on the Class 3A Gray Team and defeated the 3A White Team. Jordan on the opportunity to compete among Iowa’s best girls basketball players.

“I think it was just really cool to have the opportunity to put that Hampton-Dumont-CAL jersey back on for one more time, and then getting to play with girls that we played during AAU but then getting to play them here is completely different,” Jordan Valley says. “Practice went so good and the girls were so nice. It was so fun.”

Each team had a short practice in the morning, followed by the games and some award ceremonies.

Brooklyn says it was an honor to put Hampton-Dumont-CAL Girls Basketball back on the map as a contending team this season.

“To put Hampton-Dumont-CAL on the map and just to get our name out there, it was awesome,” Brooklyn Valley says. “And leaving the program, I mean, it’s left in great hands. The freshmen coming in and the freshmen that we had this year, they saw what it took to get to play to go to Wells Fargo. So we’re leaving it in good hands, and I’m glad.”
