The Iowa Department of Transportation is accepting public input on the proposed improvements along Highway 69 from 3rd Street South to 3rd Street North in Belmond.
Changes will include removing and replacing the existing sidewalks, and upgrading curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Acts design requirements.
During construction, through traffic will be maintained with single-lane closures in each direction. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2026 and end in the fall of 2026.
You can attend an in person meeting to share your feedback. It is scheduled for March 25th from 5-6:30pm at Belmond City Hall. There will be no formal presentation during this meeting.
Residents can also share their feedback online by April 7th.
