The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center this past Thursday hosted the Everyday Entrepreneur Pitch Competition on the NIACC campus.
This event offers vital assistance to student entrepreneurs by helping them craft their initial business models, refine their pitching skills, and gain access to invaluable mentoring and funding opportunities.
Nine students competed in the semi-finals by submitting their business plan preparations. Four students advanced to the finals and presented their business pitches to a panel of judges.
First place went to Josh Hanson of Mason City with his business American RustGuard, who won a $1,250 prize.
Others involved included a 3rd place finish for Caleb Renner of Klemme with his Renner Ag Solutions winning a $500 prize, and an honorable mention for Ansel Ramirez of Hampton for North Iowa Beck and Call.
