The Clarksville School Board had a regular meeting and a work session Monday.
In the regular meeting, they approved sharing agreements with North Butler for a shared superintendent, business manager and HR director. Regarding infrastructure items, they approved a gym floor quote from Hillyard for $6,000, approved air conditioning quotes from Wedeking Custom Comfort for $30,242.23 and LEHVAC for $6,185.00 for fiscal year 2025, Doug’s Heating & Cooling for $24,654.75 and LEHVAC for $5,950.00 for fiscal year 2026. They also approved a fundraiser for a horticulture class, and an IAEP Coop purchasing program for food service, among other items.
After the regular meeting, they hosted an open forum during a work session to discuss the possibility of switching to a four-day school week. Key items for consideration included that the school day would be extended by 25 minutes, that it would help with staff retention and recruitment, and that staff pay would stay the same as a five-day week.
