The Dike-New Hartford girls soccer team will begin its season Monday by hosting GC-GR, a game that’ll air on 99 The Wave.
Coming off a 16-5 season where they reached the Class 1A semifinals, the Wolverines have three of last year’s goal scoring leaders back. Lucy Varney led the team with 13 goals and Gentry Swarts scored 12, and are back for their senior seasons. Jaden Zedeker played 97 minutes in the goal, and will likely be tasked with replacing four-year starting goalkeeper Miranda Tyler, who graduated last season.
The Rebels went 6-11 last year and were winless in conference play. However, Alex Yoder and Kali Aldrich are back after leading in goals scored last year. DNH has won all 11 meetings between the programs, including 3-2 and 1-0 last year.
Pregame coverage will start at 5:20 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 5:30.
