More charges have been filed against an Iowa Falls man who was arrested earlier this month.  30-year-old Michael William Watts owns Watt’s Accounting.  At the end of last month, the Empress Boat Club’s Board of Trustees reported the theft of funds from the organization’s checking account, as 11 checks totaling 16-thousand-500 dollars were allegedly written to Watt’s Accounting with forged signatures.

Also at the end of last month, the Empress trustees reported the theft of 32-thousand-400 dollars from their checking account.  25 different checks were allegedly written to Watt’s Accounting.

Watts now faces a total of 5 charges, including ongoing criminal conduct-unlawful activity, two counts of first degree theft, and for two counts of forgery.  This past Thursday he entered a written plea of not guilty, and his jury trial has been set for June 3rd beginning at 9am.

If convicted on all the charges, Watts could be sentenced for up to 55 years in prison.
