Latest county population estimates released by the U-S Census Bureau

The annual estimates of the resident population for counties in Iowa has been released by the U-S Census Bureau.

For the counties in the broadcast area, those witnessing a gain in population from 2023-24 include Cerro Gordo County, up by 23, and Franklin County up by 129.

The remaining counties had a decrease in population.  For example, Butler County dropped by 69 residents, Grundy was down by 7, and Hardin County dropped by 59.

Wright County was down by 15.

Statewide, Iowa gained 23,074 residents from 2023 through 2024.
