The Dike-New Hartford School Board last week held a public hearing on the proposed next fiscal year budget.

Those who participated in the public hearing made comments, asked questions, and made some suggestions, including that the district start working on next year’s budget earlier to allow more time for public input.

A question was also raised about whether public schools have a lobbying mechanism to address ongoing underfunding despite the state’s budget surplus.

The D-NH board will hold the public hearing to adopt the fiscal year 2026 budget on April 16th at 5pm.  The total property tax levy will be $14.81 per one-thousand dollars of assessed value.
