The Aplington-Parkersburg and AP/DNH soccer teams will return to action Thursday by taking on GC-GR in the conference openers.
The boys will host the Rebels in Aplington at 5:00. At 1-0, Head Coach Perry Bernard expects an intense matchup.
“That’s always a battle,” Bernard says. “And again, they’re kind of in the same situation a little bit as Clear Lake is. I know they’ve lost some of their bigger, stronger guys that they did have. We’re confident going into that, but that’s the one the boys are kind of thinking about the most.”
The United will go for a crucial conference win against a GC-GR team that’ll open its season.
The girls will take a 1-0 record into Reinbeck for a 5:30 kickoff. The Rebels are 0-1 after a loss at Dike-New Hartford Monday.
The Falcon boys tennis team will begin its season by hosting Clear Lake. Action will start at 4:30 at Aplington Recreation Complex.
