Central Rivers AEA Board approves employee agreements and contracts

The Central Rivers Area Education Agency Board of Directors held a business meeting Wednesday in Cedar Falls and took action on several agreements and contracts.

The board approved a collective bargaining agreement for the next two school years with the Central Rivers AEA Education Association for Certified Staff which will include an increase in the base salary by $600.

The board approved a collective bargaining agreement for the next two school years for the Classified Staff with a base salary increase of 70-cents per hour, and also approved salary increases and contracts for Non-Union Support Staff and for Administration.

The Central Rivers Area Education Agency covers most of the school districts in the broadcast area, and employs about 500 people.

However, the agency is still down by nearly 40 staff members in special education, and is actively seeking to fill these positions.
