Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley of New Hartford says lawmakers will really start to dig in on the budget process, which includes any changes to tax policy, this week.

Grassley says Iowans have been loud and clear that they want the legislature to shift their focus to property taxes.

Grassley says he wants to hear from residents, by having them fill out a brief survey.  He wants to hear from them on their thoughts on the state’s current property tax system and how it’s impacting them.

Grassley says property taxes are the most difficult to address.  The main bill that has been garnering the most attention is House Study Bill 313, because it would be a big overhaul of the property tax system.
