A well known Mason City building which has sat empty for almost six years is now owned by the City of Mason City.
Mohawk Square was forced to close in May of 2019 after part of the roof collapsed.
Over the years, Mohawk Square housed Mason City High School and the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health, among others.
Last year, the City of Mason City filed a petition in court to have the facility declared as an abandoned property, and to have the city awarded its title.
Mohawk Square is 108-years-old.
