The Hampton Police Department released information concerning a three vehicle accident which took place Tuesday just after 3pm in front of the Casey’s store on Highway 65 north.
A 2015 Yukon Denali, driven by 50-year-old Benjamin Schlachter of Hampton, was northbound on Highway 65 and was stopped in traffic due to yielding traffic ahead. At the same time, a 2017 Ford Expedition, driven by 29-year-old Alexandria Martinez of Hampton, was behind the Schlachter vehicle and also stopped.
A juvenile, driving a 2016 Chevrolet Impala, also northbound on Highway 65, did not see that the Martinez vehicle was stopped in traffic, and collided with the Ford Expedition, which caused it to collide with the Yukon Denali driven by Schlachter.
Four people were transported to Franklin General Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
A combined 16-thousand dollars in vehicle damage was reported.
