Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Spring Sports Update – 4-10-25

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track and field team will host its annual Cowboy Relays on Thursday. The Cowboys last competed on Tuesday at Umstead Relays. They had three top five finishers including Chaz Lane third in 100m hurdles, Christopher Greenfield fifth in the 1600m and Huxley Lingenfelter fifth in the discus. Locally the meet will include Belmond-Klemme, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Iowa Falls-Alden and West Fork.

The meet begins at 4:30 p.m.

The C-G-D girls track and field team will travel cross-county to Eagle Grove for Lady Eagle Relays on Thursday. This will be the Cowgirls first outdoor meet and first meet since North Iowa Indoor Championships on March 27. Makayla Beisel placed second in the high jump and third in 60m hurdles as the team’s top finisher at that meet.

The meet begins at 4:30 p.m.

The C-G-D girls golf team will host a dual meet against Garner-Hayfield-Ventura on Thursday. The Cowgirls finished third with a 252 at a triangular hosted by Roland-Story on Monday. Tee off is at 4:15 p.m. at Oak Ridge Golf Course in Goldfield. 

The C-G-D boys golf team will travel to Roland-Story for a dual meet on Thursday. The Cowboys last time out fell 172-214 to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in a dual meet on April 4. Caleb Seaba has the lowest round score on the team with a 48. Tee off is at 4:00 p.m. at River Bend Golf Course in Story City.
