Wednesday, just after 2 p.m. the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department with the assistance of the Iowa State Patrol, responded to the report of a single-vehicle accident in the 24,000 block of Orchid Avenue in Mason City.
A 2019 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by David Richard Falk of Saint Ansgar, was driving southbound on Orchid Avenue when it drove into the west ditch and struck a utility pole. The pole was knocked down in the collision.
Falk sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the accident and was transported by private vehicle from the scene. Driver fatigue is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.
