The North Butler boys golf team won their first meet of the season with a 171, three strokes ahead of second place Northwood-Kensett at a triangular hosted by Newman Catholic on Friday. The Bearcats had three golfers card top five rounds, led by Nolan Reser with a runner-up score of 40, Lincoln Johnson was third with a 41 and Kale Mulder tied for fifth with a round of 45.
The North Butler girls golf team finished second with a 205 as the host Newman Catholic won the triangular with a 188 on Friday. Zoey Thompson led the Bearcats as she tied for second with a round of 46, just one stroke off the medalist. Amelia Thompson tied for fifth with a 49.
Both teams will host a triangular against West Fork and Rockford on Monday.
