The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys soccer team played to a scoreless tie at Humboldt Monday. The Bulldogs (2-1-2) will return to action Thursday at Garner Hayfield Ventura.

The girls soccer team fell 4-1 at home to Humboldt. Mallory Rieken scored late in the second half for the team’s only score. The Bulldogs (0-4-1) will be at Charles City Tuesday at 7:00.

The boys tennis team’s meet at Clear Lake was cancelled. They’ll be at Nevada Tuesday at 4:30.

In other Tuesday action, the golf teams will be in action for the first time this season against West Fork.

“We have been on the range a lot to start the year a lot more than we normally have been able to for the start of a spring sport,” girls head coach Dustin Moorehead says. “So I’ve seen a lot of growth already in the couple of weeks of practice that we’ve had, really starting to hit the ball a little bit better. I have a lot of inexperience this year compared to what I had last year on the varsity side of things. And they’re starting to figure out the difference between their clubs, their woods, each one of their irons. Our course is hard, and being able to be on your own course and knowing the ins and out of that is a huge advantage for us to start out with West Fork.”

The girls will play at home and the boys will be in Sheffield. Both meets will start at 4:15.

In search of their first win of the season, the girls tennis team will host Nevada at 4:30.

Both track & field teams will be in action. The girls will be at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and the boys will be at Clear Lake. Both meets will start at 4:30.
