
The initial bargaining session between the Belmond-Klemme School Board and the Belmond-Klemme Education Association was held last week in Belmond.
The initial employment contract bargaining position by the education association included a 35-hundred dollar pay increase for all staff, to provide four weeks paid maternity leave, and to increase all extracurricular pay by 2 percent. The total cost of this proposal is about 6 percent.
The initial bargaining position by the B-K School Board included a 1-thousand dollar increase in base wages, and a 1-thousand dollar increase to each employee. The total cost of this proposal is $71,093 or 1-point-47 percent.
