The North Butler girls golf team won its first meet of the year with 199 strokes at triangular hosted Osage on Thursday. The Bearcats turned in the top three rounds on the day to win by 19 strokes over second place Osage. Zoey Thompson was medalist with a 41, Amelia Thompson was the runner-up with a 46 and Hannah Nichols tied for third with 51.
The boys golf team finished third with 183 strokes, in second was Saint Ansgar with a 176 and the host Green Devils won the meet with a 154. Nolan Reser led the Bearcats in fifth place with 41 strokes.
Both teams are scheduled to return to the course on Tuesday, April 22 at Nashua-Plainfield.
The boys track and field team placed seventh at Lake Mills Bulldog relays on Thursday.
