
The Iowa Falls-Alden boys track & field team placed second with 127 points at Tuesday’s Lynx Relays at Webster City. Medalists:

Janssen will next compete in the 100-meter hurdles at the Drake Relays Friday. The rest of the team will be back in action Friday at South Hardin.
The girls tennis team fell 10-1 at St. Edmond. At 3-5, their next meet will be Friday at Dike-New Hartford.
The boys tennis team was dominant in a 9-0 home win over St. Edmond. They got 10-0 wins by Carson Allen at #5 singles, Brayden Moestchen/Lane Madden at #2 doubles and Carson Allen/Keaton Mulford at #3 doubles. Head Coach Anne Plagge on how the team can continue to make progress.
“The rest of our season’s success is going to be that mental piece, being ready to play when the meet starts for those singles matches,” Plagge says. “And then also knowing that we have a senior lineup, they’ve got the experience to compete, but they’re also juggling a lot going on with the end of the school year and a lot of other things. So just balancing all of their activities and all the end of the senior year, and being ready to play when we step on the court.”
At 3-4, they’ll be back in action Tuesday, April 29 at Clear Lake.
The girls golf team defeated Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 214-241 at Meadow Hills Golf Course. They were led by Montana Thies with 50 strokes and Olivia Scholte with 53, placing first and second individually. Their next meet is Friday at Humboldt.
The boys golf team defeated Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 164-210 at Clarmond Country Club. Kale Kalous finished with 35 strokes for first place individually, and Karsen Kalous was second with a 40. Their next meet is Thursday at Dike-New Hartford.
