The Butler County Board of Supervisors Tuesday met with Derek Kramer, who lives near the Logistics Park at Shell Rock, about the level of train noise, including the horns that are being sounded at all times of the day and night.

He suggested the board look at placing “quiet zones” in the area to help with the noise level.  The supervisors took his suggestion under advisement.

In other business, the Butler County Board of Supervisors approved to submit a letter of support on behalf of county engineer John Riherd, who plans on seeking the state director position for the National Association of County Engineers.

The Butler supervisors also appointed Kevin Tobin to the county board of adjustment.
